Forrest Dorsett - Founder & Principal

Forrest brings over 20 years of industry knowledge and experience, a wealth of strategic contacts, along with sheer tenacity to position Dorsett Sports Marketing as a leader in maximizing professional athletes’ marketability. Developing marketing campaigns for prestigious brands and negotiating product endorsement deals are just a few of the many traits Forrest has perfected over the years.

Before forming Dorsett Sports Marketing, Forrest made his home at Cass Creative & Media, a Dallas, Texas based full-service advertising agency. At Cass Creative & Media he held the position of Director of New Business Development, and was directly responsible for client acquisitions, and developing national advertising strategies. In 2007, Cass Creative & Media was awarded several Gold Awards for medical marketing.

Prior to Cass Creative & Media, in 2001, Forrest worked for the Los Angeles Times for four years. In his role, as Project/Events Manager, Forrest carved out his status by creating cutting-edge event marketing campaigns and interactive solutions on behalf of clients such as Anschutz Entertainment Group (AEG), NASCAR, ESPN, Los Angeles Angels, Los Angeles Dodgers, Los Angeles Clippers, Los Angeles Galaxy, Pac-10 Properties, John Wooden Classic, Pasadena Tournament of Roses, University of Southern California (USC), University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), Home Depot, and Southwest Airlines.

In 1993, Forrest joined forces with Captivator® as VP of Sales & Marketing. Captivator® developed innovative consumer products protected by Intellectual Property. Forrest’s responsibilities stretched across a number of core business channels including driving strategy, marketing, brand management, licensing, product development, and manufacturing. This led him to China; Beijing, Hohhut, Inner Mongolia, Shanghai, and Wuhan. Forrest and the Captivator® staff completed projects for many of the world’s leading companies, including Nike, Reebok, Adidas, PepsiCo, and Major League Baseball.

While with Captivator®, Forrest most inspirational accomplishments were successfully negotiating a 5-year product endorsement agreement resulting in the acquisition of 13-time All-Star & Future Hall of Famer Major League Baseball Player Ken Griffey Jr., and also establishing product placement on one of the largest multimedia televised shopping networks, QVC.

Today Forrest focuses all his energy into growing Dorsett Sports Marketing. Forrest says he feels fortunate to be in the business he’s in because each day brings exciting new challenges. But most importantly he says it’s about getting the chance to meet new people and grow friendships inside the sports marketing world as well as out.
